Her Story
Halisi Ali El has spent her life uplifting others — as an author of children's books celebrating identity and self-love, a life coach, a workshop facilitator, and a tireless community advocate. She calls herself a "warrior mama bear," and she has always fought hardest for those who need it most, especially children.
On January 22nd, that warrior spirit was put to its greatest test. Halisi was diagnosed with CNS lymphoma and became medically disabled. She is now undergoing liquid IV chemotherapy treatment, fighting every day to recover.
As the primary caregiver for her four children — ages 3, 6, 8, and 11 — her illness has turned the family's world upside down. Their father has stepped up as primary caretaker, but the family urgently needs support with meals, transportation, and daily care.
To make matters harder, Halisi's college-aged daughter was recently involved in a car accident that totaled her vehicle, adding unexpected financial strain and transportation challenges through September.
